The Vision
For the past sixteen years, Pastor Les and Georgie Hook have lived and served in the town of Boggabilla (border of NSW & QLD), answering a call from God to dedicate their lives to the people in that community. Twelve years ago God gave them a vision for a new church and community hall which would be place of worship, unity, care and friendship.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Redeemer students alongside staff and volunteer licensed builders spent a week during the July 2016 school holidays in the town of Boggabilla working on the ‘Oasis Community Centre’.
They installed roof sheets, walls and windows as well as completing the exterior painting and landscaping.
FELLOWSHIP TOGETHER
They shared fellowship together on Sunday morning inside the new centre, for the very first time!.
WE HAVE THIS HOPE AS AN ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL
The wall painting was done by staff and students of Redeemer Baptist School. The three images portray hope. The anchor and dove are both familiar symbols of hope. The third image is a blossoming gum flower symbolising new life and hope. This is part of the symbol of their church.
GENEROUS SUPPORT
This Community Service Project was made possible by the funds raised from our Gala Day, including the generous support of parents and local businesses.
